Company Name: W. W. NORTON & COMPANY
Description: The Countryman Press, an imprint of W. W. Norton & Company, is seeking an intern for three months beginning in late January, 2020 to assist with a variety of publicity, editorial, and administrative tasks. These tasks will support our list of cooking, lifestyle, and travel books and interest in one or more of these subjects is preferred, though not required. Responsibilities in this position are wide-ranging and provide significant opportunities for learning. Duties include:
• Reviewing manuscripts and proposals
• Drafting catalog and cover copy
• Drafting press releases and executing mailings
• Maintaining social media accounts
• Assisting with meeting preparations
• Managing email queries and submissions
Length of Internship: 3 months, 20 hours per week
Requirements: Candidates must be attentive to details and eager to learn, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Applicants should be motivated, independent workers who can handle multiple time-sensitive projects and prioritize deadlines. Interns will work 20 hours per week.
Location: New York, NY
Payment: $15/hour
