| Description: | Gelfman Schneider Literary Agents, Inc a full service literary agency in New York City, represents a wide range of fiction and non-fiction. Some of our clients have included Tracy Chevalier, Jeffery Deaver, Oliver Sacks, and Chris Bohjalian. We are seeking an intern for Fall/Winter 2024. Duties include evaluating unsolicited material, critiquing requested submissions, writing readers reports, general agency/office tasks, assisting with digital rights opportunities and contracts management, editing manuscripts, and liaising with authors, editors, and co-agents.
We offer a competitive monthly stipend to cover travel costs and expenses. Gelfman Schneider also uses its network of contacts to help you on your search for employment opportunities in publishing. |
| Length of Internship: | Fall/Winter 2024, two days a week. Can be remote |
| Requirements: | At least 2 years of college completed, an avid interest in the publishing industry, and applicants need to be ready to read. Candidates should be well read, articulate, and eager to learn about the editorial and administrative aspects of a publishing job. Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
