Andrea Montejo (Founder, Indent Literary Agency) will be moderating. They will be discussing their careers in publishing, what keeps them passionate about the industry, and how diverse book publishing professionals will help to create more diverse book content in 2016 and beyond.   >> more

Bookjobs Diversity News: Applications being received from Historically Black Colleges & Universities For AAP-UNCF Internship Program

The AAP-UNCF Internship Program, sponsored in partnership with the Association of American Publishers, is seeking college juniors and seniors with an interest in pursuing a career in the publishing industry, and whose experience in their first two years of college demonstrates leadership ability and commitment. Candidates will be selected to intern at AAP sponsored firms (Host sites) for summer 2016.

Paid summer internships for high-achieving African American students will be offered at industry-leading companies, including Bloomsbury, Cengage Learning, Elsevier, Hachette Book Group, HarperCollins Publishers, Macmillan, McGraw-Hill Education, Penguin Random House, Perseus Books Group, Scholastic, and W.W. Norton. Internships will cross functions including editorial, marketing, publicity, sales and digital engineering. Students will be placed in New York, Washington, Boston, and St. Louis in its inaugural year.
