Company Name: NANCY YOST LITERARY AGENCY
Description: The Nancy Yost Literary Agency represents a diverse and talented group of authors comprised of national and international bestsellers.

We're looking for interns interested in adult commercial fiction who want to expand their knowledge of the publishing industry through the perspective of a New York-based literary agency. We ask that interns commit to 12-15 hours a week on a set schedule.

Interns will have the opportunity to learn more about the query process, query evaluation, editorial work pre-submission, submission lists, submission letter writing, royalties, contracts, the current state of publishing and the differences between traditional and indie publishing, how-to on creating POD books, eBooks, and cover design if desired, discussions on industry trends, sub rights including both audio and foreign rights, and much more.
Length of Internship: Seasonal Internships based on the semester system. (Spring, Summer, Fall)
Requirements: Perspective Interns should have an interest in publishing with strong written and verbal communication skills. Additionally, we appreciate self-motivated candidates who are responsible, organized, and can work both independently and in a group setting.

Our internship is fully remote, however, if interns are local to the New York area, we are open to having interns come in once a semester to see the office, meet with the team, and take home some books.
Location: New York, New York (But the internship is fully remote)

Due to the large number of applicants, we do not reply individually when application materials are sent. (You should have heard from us before Feb 1 for Spring semesters, before July 1 for Summer semesters, and before October 1st for Fall semesters.)
Payment: Modest semester stipend.
