Company Name: W. W. NORTON & COMPANY
Description: The college division at W. W. Norton & Company is seeking an intern from September to November 2019 to assist with various college marketing projects. The internship will offer insight into the marketing, advertising, and sales aspects of textbook publishing. Tasks will vary, but will include:
• Assisting marketers across all disciplines with competitor research and creating contact lists
• Conducting research, posting for, and maintaining Norton College social media accounts
• Testing online learning tools such as InQuizitive and Smartwork5 to create a pool of demonstrative data for potential clients and professors
• Collaborating with the conventions coordinator to compile information for upcoming academic conferences
• Administrative duties including preparing mail, transcribing audio meetings, editing/proofreading documents, and FAQ pages
Length of Internship: 3 months, 20 hours per week
Requirements: Ideal candidates are detail-oriented and organized, able to work independently in an office environment, and interested in learning about marketing, advertising, and sales as it pertains to college textbook publishing. Those with an interest in marketing are especially encouraged to apply. Strong applicants are expected to have excellent written and oral communication skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Google Docs are encouraged. If you are applying to another Norton internship, please indicate as much in your cover letter. Specific hours are flexible, but interns must be available to work 3-4 days for a total of 20 hours per week over a three-month period. College juniors, seniors, and recent graduates preferred.

Payment: $15/hour
