Description: Adult Literary Agent at a reputed full-service agency seeks an intern for Summer 2019

Applicants should be savvy readers and effective writers with a strong interest in book publishing. Some prior office experience preferred. Intern will be responsible for reading submissions and writing evaluations of adult fiction and non-fiction manuscripts. In addition, the intern will assist the existing support staff of the department, handle mailings, filing, and other day-to-day tasks. Though the internship will also include minor administrative tasks, our goal is to create an environment where students will learn firsthand about an agency’s role in book publishing. Opportunities to learn more subsidiary rights and the submission process will be available. Please note that this internship is unpaid, though we are more than willing to work with interns in order for them to receive college credit. We would like an intern to work 12-18 hours per week and commit to a 3 month term, but we can be flexible with your schedule. Current undergraduates strongly preferred.
Length of Internship: mid/late May 2019 - early/mid August 2019 (flexible)
Requirements: -Currently enrolled as a student
-Voracious reader
-Strong writer
-Interested in adult fiction and non-fiction
-Previous office experience preferred
