Description: The academic arm of Bloomsbury USA is made up of Bloomsbury Academic, Arden, Methuen Drama, T & T Clark, and Fairchild Books imprints. Bloomsbury Academic publishes a portfolio of textbooks, reference titles and journals from the world’s most recognized authorities in our areas of expertise: visual arts, fashion, interior design, drama, Shakespeare, literature, anthropology, religion, and more. Our audience ranges from academics to librarians to professionals to readers who are ardent enthusiasts in a wide variety of areas of interest.

We are currently seeking a hard working Sales Intern with an interest in books and textbook publishing. This Internship would be flexible with your course schedule and we will help you schedule time to work in between classes. We will provide a wage as well as college course credit, where applicable.

The internship begins June 2014 and candidate should reside in the New York City metro area. Internship should extend into and through summer 2014.

The Intern will assist with the Sales, Marketing, and Editorial teams in various ways, including but not limited to:
-Researching sales leads and target markets
-Information gathering
-Cold-calling to and customer outreach to potential clients
-Generating marketing lists
-Assisting with shipments to customers
-Data entry and sales reporting
-Various administrative duties

This internship will provide a great opportunity to acquire essential skills necessary for a career in sales/marketing/publishing.
Length of Internship: Summer 2014
Requirements: Candidate is preferable in college working towards a degree, although not a requirement. He/she must be a committed team player with excellent speaking and writing skills, the ability to multi-task, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment. Excel/Word/Internet proficiency is essential. Interest in the Academic market and Sales a plus.
