|Description:||The U.S. Department of Commerce is offering internship opportunities for globally minded individuals. The U.S. Commerce Department helps U.S. companies sell their products and services overseas. Our Global Publishing Team provides assistance to U.S. publishers looking to sell international rights and titles.
We are looking for an intern to manage the appointment scheduling service for our Educational Publishers Pavilion at the Frankfurt Book Fair. We arrange appointments for 10-12 U.S. publishers with companies from all corners of the globe. This project involves coordinating with our colleagues in U.S. Embassies and Consulates in over 25 countries. This project will involve identifying potential international partners for our exhibitors to meet with at the show and help facilitate their international sales.
|Length of Internship:||Start and end dates flexible; Internship should start over the summer and will end in early October, just before the Frankfurt Book Fair. The majority of the work will be done in August and September.|
|Requirements:||This internship would suit graduates or college enrolled juniors or seniors who are interested in a career in publishing, communications or international relations.
• Must be able to multi task an work with little direction
• Must be organized and detailed
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to thrive and lead in a loosely structured environment
• Previous work experience in publishing/media, communications or government is preferred
|Location:||The majority of the work will take place off-site for a minimum of 10-15 hours a week in a telecommuting capacity. There is the option to work in our New York City office as well if this is convenient.|
