Internship Detail

Description: The sales assistant will provide support for operations of the sales department. He or she will help get our titles out to the customers and readers in trade paperback and electronic formats. This is done by contacting book buyers and introducing them to the titles that are being published. Duties include keeping track of book sales and following up with our buyers to fulfill orders and mailings as needed. Also, assist in special sales activities such as authors' events, and responding to individual customer queries. The assistant will also be responsible for interacting with customers and reporting back to the company about the consumer book market. The assistant may also be allowed to work from home.
Length of Internship: Internships for this department usually last for 3 months, but is flexible. However, 15-20 hours of work per week is required.
Requirements: *Familiarity with a wide variety of genres, including women's fiction, African-American fiction, urban/street lit fiction, and erotica
*Excellent communication skills is a must
*Candidate must be a self-starter and have good follow-through
*Ability to organize and keep track of details are vital
*Familiarity with Word and Excel
Location: Newark, New Jersey
Payment: This is a nonpaid intern.
