Description: Are you interested in helping to shape how authors and readers engage online?

Does the idea of helping thousands of indie & traditionally published authors introduce their books to readers excite you?

Ryan Zee Author Marketing is seeking 2 - 3 highly creative, ambitious, and tech-savvy digital marketing interns who are interested in legitimately helping to shape the future of book marketing. For the right person, this position could transition into a part or full-time job.

Since 2015, Ryan Zee Author Marketing has quickly and quietly grown into one of the most trusted resources for authors on the web. We have helped over 5,000 authors grow their online platforms, including some of the most successful names across all major genres (romance, mysteries & thrillers, sci-fi & fantasy, teen & young adult, literary & book club fiction, Christian fiction, and more).

Our operations include, one of the premier book giveaway websites, with an email list of approx. 100,000 readers, as well as, a popular visual book outlining software downloaded by over 20,000 authors.

This internship will provide a valuable overview of some of the most effective online book marketing & promotional strategies working today.

Your daily tasks may include:
— Crafting and posting content on social media (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)
— Online research and lead generation
— Brainstorming & providing feedback on book marketing / contest ideas
— Researching and/or assisting with building Facebook Messenger Chatbots
— Designing social media graphics and memes
— Posting / editing content on Wordpress
— Drafting questions for author interviews
— Assisting with setting up Facebook ads
— Reading / annotating relevant online marketing articles

You’re likely a good fit for this internship if some or all of the following are true:
— You have a college degree in English, Marketing, Psychology, or a related field
— You have previous experience working in publishing or directly with authors (traditionally or self-published)
— You are passionate about making a difference in the world of books
— You enjoy and believe strongly in using data to make informed decisions
— You have an experimentation mindset: you’re excited to try new things and you’re okay with (potentially) failing
— You can become passionate about an idea and its execution
— You have a natural gift for persuasion
Length of Internship: Minimum 3 months
Requirements: Availability: 10 - 20 hours / wk

Desired skills and experience (some or all):
— College degree in English, Marketing, Psychology, or a related field
— Strong computer skills
— Strong online research skills
— Strong persuasive writing / copywriting skills
— Strong organizational skills (e.g. logistics & scheduling)
— Strong attention to detail (bordering on neurotic)
— Familiarity with Wordpress and/or Squarespace
— Graphic design (e.g. Canva or Photoshop)
— Social media marketing (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Linkedin)
— Email marketing (e.g. MailChimp, MailerLite, ActiveCampaign)
— Familiarity with Google Docs & Microsoft Office
Location: Online / Remote
