Company Name: JMH SCOUTING
Description: JMH Scouting is a boutique literary scouting agency for indie publishers from abroad. We work with foreign publishers and try to find the perfect books from the English-language book market so they can be translated into other languages. We're looking for someone who reads fast, gets excited about fiction and non-fiction, and can work remotely for 15-20 hours a week. Over the course of the 3-month internship, we would get together in Brooklyn once or twice a week. Interns will gain insight into both the US and international publishing industry, will get an overview about literary agencies all over the country, will learn about foreign book markets and will get a glimpse at manuscripts right before they get published.

Responsibilities include:

- researching and reading English-language manuscripts
- preparing reports for clients abroad
- database entries
- preparing schedules for book fairs

Length of Internship: 3 months
Requirements: We are looking for someone with strong interest in contemporary fiction and nonfiction; excellent English-language writing and reading skills, and a general interest in book publishing.
The ideal candidate should be organized and detail-oriented; experience with Google Docs and Google Sheets a plus.
Location: Brooklyn, NY, but mostly remotely
Payment: Unpaid
