|Description:||Dalkey Archive Press, a nonprofit press with offices in Illinois and Dublin, Ireland, as well as at the University of Houston-Victoria, is offering an Editorial Fellowship for those with an extensive background in literature and have decided they want a career in literary publishing. The Fellow will work in one or more of the offices of Dalkey Archive Press, and will receive a monthly stipend of $1500 per month.
The Fellowships provide hands-on training and experience in publishing. In addition to the Press’s books, the Fellow will be involved with the Review of Contemporary Fiction.
Primary duties include:
¥ Copy edit Dalkey Archive publications.
¥ Acquire materials for the Review of Contemporary Fiction.
¥ Review submissions, write reader reports, and help in acquisitions.
¥ Scout for new books.
¥ Produce contracts for authors and translators.
¥ Together with the production manager, create the editorial schedule.
¥ Learn to write jacket copy and catalog copy for all books.
¥ Learn how to manage a booth at a convention or festival.
¥ Other training as the need arises based on interest and potential success..

|Requirements:||¥ Master’s degree in English or foreign languages.
¥ Experience at multitasking while working in a fast-paced environment.
¥ Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills.
¥ Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and work independently.
¥ Superior verbal and written communication skills.
¥ Well read in Dalkey Archive books.
¥ Fluency in one or more non-English languages preferred, anf translators are encouraged to apply.
