This is a great opportunity for those just starting out in publishing. ZSH interns gain valuable insight, experience, education, and connections while working closely with agents and assisting with the full process of representing a book, from requesting manuscripts based on queries to editing the work and crafting pitches. Interns will also learn about contracts, royalty statements, client relations, and other details of the agency business.

Interns will gain experience:

* Reading fiction manuscripts and nonfiction proposals
* Creating detailed reader’s reports to assist the agents in making acquisition decisions and editing already signed projects
* Managing royalty statements
* Copyediting and proofreading
* Interacting with agency clients
* Assisting with various research projects

Hours:

Hours are flexible, but a time commitment of at least two days a week is required.
Length of Internship: Spring Semester
Requirements: Qualifications:

* Previous editorial and/or writing experience is desirable
* Very strong writing skills
* Time management ability
Location: Boston, MA

Payment: Unfortunately, we are currently unable to offer compensation to interns. However, we are happy to coordinate with interns so they can earn course credits.
