Description: The Phyllis Chesler Organization ( is currently seeking interns for a number of exciting projects. The organization is looking for interns who:

--possess strong research and writing skills to assist on honor killing studies. Strong research, writing, typing skills required. Must work independently and think creatively. Would welcome an intern who is interested in the Middle East, the rights (or absence of rights) for Muslim women and dissidents. Research areas include Muslim women, jihad, fundamentalism, the history of women in the region, Israel advocacy, the nature of propaganda, etc.

- are interested in working with feminist photo and literary archives, putting them into chronological and/or thematic order, then scanning them into the computer and labelling them properly. This will involve working with the employer and also working independently. Need someone who is very independent and computer literate in terms of audio-visual options. Also have videos of feminist events that should be edited into shorter pieces and perhaps made available to the public. The work will involve converting the VHS tapes into digital versions.

- are “techies.” Interns who can expand a mailing list via social media, help research and place already published pieces more widely on the web, etc.

Ideally looking for full-time interns for the summer. During the Fall/Winter/Spring semesters, part-time is also acceptable.
Length of Internship: approximately 10 weeks -- late May to mid-August 2016, but schedule is flexible
Requirements: Strong writing and editing skills, fluency in Microsoft Office, competency with social media websites, computer literacy, and reliability.
Location: New York City -- Upper East Side
