Description: Red Sofa Literary is looking to add an intern (unpaid) for the summer of 2018! We’re a Twin Cities-based literary agency, with national reach, working with authors and publishers across many genres and profiles. We are seeking an intern who is driven and interested in pursuing a career in publishing at an agency or otherwise.

The intern will support the agents in a variety of tasks and responsibilities including:

● Beta reading and manuscript/proposal evaluation
● Agency social media upkeep and proactive reader engagement, including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Tumblr
● Marketing efforts for our authors’ books
● Upkeep of the RSL event calendar, Wiki page, writing the RSL newsletter, and message board
● Research of editors worth pitching for specific projects

This position will be remote, with weekly meetings via Google Hangouts.

Length of Internship: Three months - Summer 2018
Requirements: A natural curiosity about books & the process in which they are published, a willingness to learn, and interest in online media. An interest in book publishing and book promotion is VERY important. Must be able to work collaboratively with the agency, and be able to work independently as well.
Location: Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN or remotely (one position)- mandatory weekly meetings (telecommuting)

Payment: Unpaid - Will work with the college or university if one is working toward college credits for this internship.
