Internship Detail

[Back to Internships]

Company Name: HENERY PRESS
Description: We want only enthusiastic interns interested in publishing; those who wish to learn the whole enchilada, from slush pile submissions to putting that book in the reader’s hands. To get in the door: a mystery-reading bookworm with strong writing skills and plenty of personality. To put frosting on the cake: knows social media skills like nobody’s business (and isn’t afraid to mix metaphors and play with puns).

This is a soup-to-nuts position: reading submissions, creating promo images, working on the blog, writing social media posts (FB, TW), proofreading, filing, special projects, ARC mailings, pre-production formatting, and proofreading (did we mention proofreading?). And everything on deadline.

We’re an award-winning publisher in the mystery/suspense genre focused on engaging stories with sharp twists and lively characters. We believe we’re part of the new generation of independent publishing houses setting the stage for global book publishing. We publish 36 titles a year with multiple USA Today Bestsellers. We have a lot of fun in our Hen House, but we take it quite seriously.

Length of Internship: Three months. Hours: Approximately 30 hours per week, Monday – Thursday (office closed on Fridays).
Requirements: Recent college graduate. Detail-oriented. Creative. Flexible. Excellent speller, proofreader, and grammar know-it-all.
Location: Plano, TX. Must work in our North Dallas office (remote applicants will not be considered). We’re at the Shops at Legacy and we take advantage of the Taco Diner patio at will.
Payment: Unpaid. Letters of recommendation for excellent interns. Monthly travel stipend of $100. Perk package includes random free lunches, casual dress code (tees and flip-flops), and all the water you can drink.
How To Apply For This Internship: If you think you have what it takes to make it happen in the Hen House, please email a cover letter and resume to
