|Company Name:||SARAH JANE FREYMANN LITERARY AGENCY|
|Description:||The Sarah Jane Freymann Literary Agency seeks an editorial intern to read queries and manuscripts, help us choose clients, offer suggestions/edits, manage correspondence, and do some general office work. (I promise you won't be stuck xeroxing for hours a day--90 percent of the internship is reading.)
One to two days a week would be ideal.
Because our system is electronic, there will be many days when you can work from home--reading, evaluating, and commenting on manuscripts via email.
Please know that we value written communication over experience. Show us your written voice in your cover letter.
|Length of Internship:||For the following semester--though we're flexible. We try to have a new batch of interns every semester.|
|Requirements:||Strong written and verbal communication skills. Patience with authors. Ability to handle the stresses of a busy, successful office--and stay kind. We pride ourselves on maintaining good relationships with our authors, including those attempting to work with us.|
|Location:||Upper West Side (Central Park West and 71st Street), Manhattan. It's a large home office, which means we have a kitchen you (and sometimes our cookbook authors) can use.|
|How To Apply For This Internship:||Please send a cover letter (in the body of the email) and resume (attached as a Word document) to Jessica@SarahJaneFreymann.com. No calls, please. Before your interview, please look at our site and be ready to talk about what projects are most interesting to you.|
