Internship Detail

[Back to Internships]

Description: Interested in learning more about the publishing industry? Bellevue Literary Press is looking for interns to join our office on a part-time basis. BLP interns read and appraise manuscripts, manage our online submissions log, attend staff meetings, and assist us with a variety of office tasks. It’s a great way to gain hands-on experience and insight into the inner workings of a publishing office, the mechanisms of the book industry and marketplace, and the operations of a nonprofit arts organization.

Bellevue Literary Press is an independent, nonprofit publishing house based in Manhattan. We are devoted to publishing literary fiction and nonfiction at the intersection of the arts and sciences because we believe that science and the humanities are natural companions for understanding the human experience. With each book we publish, our goal is to foster a rich, interdisciplinary dialogue that will forge new tools for thinking and engaging with the world.
Length of Internship: 3-4 months
Requirements: The ideal applicant is detail-oriented and organized with excellent writing and communication skills as well as a strong interest in publishing and/or the nonprofit arts sector.
Location: New York, NY
Application Due Date: Applications will be considered on a rolling basis.
Payment: The internship is unpaid, though we are happy to make arrangements for course credit where possible.
