|Description:||Looking for a publishing internship where you get to read, write, edit, and spend time exploring mysterious corners of the Internet? Good news! North Atlantic Books is seeking publicity and marketing interns to work in our Berkeley, California office for Fall 2016.
North Atlantic Books is a leading publisher in the areas of bodywork, alternative health, diet and nutrition, metaphysics, sustainable living, and the quirkier side of pop culture. Our publicity and marketing interns gain valuable publishing experience and are involved in a variety of projects surrounding our new and forthcoming titles, including participating at local Bay Area events, collaborating on social media and blog posts, and researching relevant trends.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Building publicity contact lists for review mailings and e-blasts
- Researching blogs, websites and writers for specific book projects
- Writing galley letters and press releases
- Designing press kits
- Writing posts and designing materials for NAB's social media and blog
- Tracking, clipping, and recording publicity hits as they arise
- Database entries and updates
- Fulfilling publicity requests for review copies, images, quotes
- Attending company, department, and author meetings
|Length of Internship:||Through December 2017|
|Requirements:||We need excellent writers and researchers, who are not afraid to dig in to new subjects every day!
You will need to be resourceful and creative. You should also be able to prioritize multiple tasks.
You must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
We hope you'll also have some knowledge, experience, or interest in the material we publish.
You will have to come in to our office in Berkeley, CA. We'll need you here at least 12 hours a week.
|Location:||You must be able to come to our office in Berkeley, California. It will be easier for you if you live in the San Francisco Bay Area.|
