Description: | We are a nonprofit performing arts institution at 95th St and Broadway in Manhattan. We produce a literature-in-performance programs: Selected Shorts (readings of short stories by actors, can also be heard nationally on public radio), the Thalia Book Club (excerpts of books ready by an actor; interview with author, and audience questions), the Thalia Kids Book Club (ditto but for children), Thalia Kids Book Club Camp (a weeklong summer camp for avid readers and writers). Interns are individually supervised by department staff and will have regular consultations with our Internship Program Consultant. All interns are involved in our day-to-day operations and attend departmental meetings and bi-weekly staff meetings. Additionally, there are career development seminars led by Symphony Space professionals and guests. College credits may be available.Time: October, 2010 - mid-May, 2011. Hours vary - see description..Candidates: Undergraduate or graduate students and recent graduates. Stipends: $100 per week for a 30-hour week. Pro-rated for lesser hours.The Interns provides assistance to the producers in all aspects of the literary department programs.
