Company Name: | DESTINATION GUIDES/DGUIDES |
Company Location(s): | Eugene, OR |
Number of Employees: | 10 |
Description: | Destination Guides (http://dguides.com/ ) is seeking talented and energetic editorial interns to research, write, and edit copy for our growing number of destination websites. Content covers a wide range of information of interest to visitors, such as basic area overviews and articles on attractions, activities, neighborhoods, nightlife, history and events.
Assigned tasks will include writing stories, copy editing other interns work, and submitting typos and broken links while each guide is in beta. You will work directly with our Founder and Editor in Chief. Location is not an issue, but you must be a self-starter, be able to work independently and have access to the internet in order to actively participate in our Editorial Google Group. Hours can vary, but we request an average commitment of at least 10 hours per week for 16 weeks (or 4 months). This is a great opportunity to get a byline and expand your portfolio, while reaching a broad audience. After an initial six-week probationary period, you will also be listed as an intern in the Site Information / About Us section, along with other staffers. For more information on the style and content of our Destination Guides, please visit Dguides.com to view our first guides on Washington DC, San Diego, Atlantic City and Philadelphia. We are looking for writers who know Maui, Oahu, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Lake Tahoe, Portland OR, Denver, New York City, Dallas and Fort Worth. We will be happy to assist you in earning academic credit. For more information, or to apply, please send your resume and writing samples to rquincey@dguides.com. Please also indicate which locale you're most familiar with. Part of the hiring process will include a writing exercise. We look forward to hearing from you! |
