Title: Literary Agency Assistant

Bradford Literary Agency is seeking an assistant to join our agency of passionate book lovers. This is an entry-level position for those who are excited to build a long-term career at a close-knit agency with ample mentorship, consistent communication, and growth opportunities. The Bradford Literary Agency is a boutique literary agency that offers a full suite of representation services to authors and illustrators. The company was established in 2001 and is headquartered in San Diego with agents based in California, Washington and New York.

Requirements: Working with us could be the right fit if:

· You have 1-2 years of publishing experience, including internships, and are excited to break into the publishing industry

· You're proficient in Airtable, MS Office, and social media platforms

· You love books as much as we do!

Responsibilities:


· Read and review queries via QueryManager

· Read and review requested submissions

· Compile pitch lists

· Write pitch letters

· Social media posting

· Updating agency website

· General market research: What’s hot on TikTok? What’s selling on PM? What are editors saying they’re looking for? What’s happening in the industry?

· Assisting with agency data maintenance—maintaining rights, editorial and IP directories etc.
