Title: Sales Assistant - Candlewick Press
Description: Candlewick Press, a leading publisher of books for children located in Somerville, MA, is seeking a detail-oriented sales assistant to join its fast-paced Sales team, with responsibility for providing admin support for a National Account Manager who services B&N and Target as well as a variety of tasks related to Readerlink and various departmental needs. In addition, this role will serve as the US contact with our Export Team located in the UK.

Reporting to a National Account Manager and the SVP of Sales, this is an exciting opportunity to learn and manage a wide array of important and highly visible responsibilities for the sales department. Responsibilities include running sales reports and creating sales materials, internal order processing and tracking, and sending samples to accounts as needed as well as attend regular in-house sales meetings and occasional customer-specific sales meetings.

Requirements: Qualifications include a strong interest in book publishing and sales, excellent verbal/written communication skills, a proactive approach to work and exceptional attention to detail. Organizational skills with a proven ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment as well as the ability to work both independently and within a team is necessary. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook and the ability to learn new systems is also essential. Prior experience in publishing sales is strongly preferred, but not required.
