Title: CONTRACTS AND ROYALTIES MANAGER
Description: Sobel Weber Associates, Inc is hiring a Contracts and Royalties Manager to support a dynamic, well established literary agency with a forty-year history of representing award-winning, best-selling authors.

Responsibilities include:
• Working alongside veteran literary agents to oversee the negotiation and tracking of publishing contracts.
• Reviewing royalty statements.
• Processing and distributing author payments.
• Communicating with clients and publishing professionals to facilitate contract negotiation.
• Ensuring contracts are signed and executed in a timely manner.
• Invoicing publishers for author payments and ensuring payments are delivered on time.
• Drafting foreign contracts.
• Working closely with partner agencies, including film and TV co-agents.

The Contracts and Royalties manager will work alongside veteran literary agents to negotiate contracts. This role is perfect for anyone looking to work on a diverse and wide array of contracts, including foreign, domestic, film, and television contracts.

Sobel Weber Associates is passionate about discovering new authors. Part of the responsibilities of the contracts manager will be negotiating contracts for debut authors. There may also be opportunities for the contract manager to engage in editorial work.

This is not a remote position. The contracts and royalties manager will work out of the Sobel Weber Associates office in New York City.

Requirements: JOB REQUIREMENTS
• A minimum of two years of experience in contract negotiation at a publishing house or literary agency.
• A deep understanding of publishing contracts.
• Knowledge of standard royalties for subsidiary rights.
• Keen attention to detail.
• The ability to operate independently
• A familiarity with both foreign and domestic contracts.
• A basic understanding of film and television rights.
