Title: Chain Sales Intern - part-time
Description: Hachette Book Group’s summer internship program offers students an opportunity to learn about the publishing industry and explore an area of interest. To learn more about the company, visit our career site: https://www.hachettebookgroup.com/about/careers/

Dates Immediate opening for minimum of three months

Location: Virtual. Company laptop will be provided for the duration of the internship.

Weekly schedule: 10 hours per week

Pay rate: $15/hour

As a Sales Intern, you will have the opportunity to work closely with seasoned professionals and gain hands-on professional experience as you own day-to-day tasks, help with special projects, and attend departmental meetings.

Possible responsibilities include:

Reports on NYP changes using HBG and BAM systems data
Buyer, assistant buyer inquiries on stock availability, pricing, discounts, b2b order questions, facilitating BAM staff members’ HBG Retailer portal access
Possibly compiling publicity/major media grids
Filtering titles recently unhidden from the system
Possibly facilitating mockups and cover requests
Other duties that may arise related to needs of the account
Requirements: Who you are:

Current student (degree or certificate program) or Spring/Summer 2022 graduate
Self-starter with strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Enthusiastic and excited about discussing recent books you’ve read
Possess a great attitude and a desire to learn as well as excellent organizational skills
Ability to work collaboratively with a team and contribute insights
Resourceful with the ability to balance multiple responsibilities and work independently
Must be results driven, and take appropriate steps to achieve goals while taking ownership of situations as needed
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
