Title: Editorial Services Coordinator
Description: Candlewick Press, a leading publisher of books for children located in Somerville, MA seeks an editorial services coordinator to provide administrative support to the team and be responsible for aiding the senior editorial services manager and editorial services assistant manager with project management tasks. The individual will work as a member of the editorial services team while collaboratively working with design, editorial, and production.

Responsibilities:
The editorial services coordinator will assist the senior editorial services manager and the editorial services assistant manager with circulation and communication of work originated in-house and by Walker Books UK and Walker Books Australia.

They will also be responsible for overseeing approximately 50 titles/year that are originated by our publishing partners, liaising with their representatives and circulating through all stages before going out to repro. They will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy of all bibliographic and scheduling information for their titles through use of the company-wide data management system and trafficking materials through the approval process.

This role works in conjunction with all teams across the Walker/Candlewick Group to ensure dates are met, negotiating extensions and making adjustments where necessary and conveying that information to the appropriate people.

The editorial services coordinator will prepare and distribute assorted pub schedules weekly for print and e-book titles. They will also attend biweekly status meetings for the imprints and other relevant department and interdepartmental meetings.

They will assist the editorial services assistant manager with preparing manuscripts for electronic editing, including text styling.

Also, they will share responsibility for circulating and reviewing e-book proofs with the assistant manager.

The editorial services coordinator will handle a variety of departmental administrative tasks, such as updating our bibliographic database, completing and submitting Library-of-Congress applications, and perform other tasks as needed.
Requirements: • A highly motivated individual with a minimum of 2–3 years of experience in a publishing environment.
• Candidates should possess a scrupulous attention to detail as well as outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be a self-starter.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and to work independently and expeditiously
• Solid proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe applications
• Familiarity with typesetting terminology / copyediting and proofreading marks strongly preferred.
