Title: Imprint Coordinator
Description: Candlewick Press, a leading publisher of books for children located in Somerville, MA, seeks an administrative professional to join our talented team as Imprint Coordinator. Reporting to the Senior Executive Editor, the position of Imprint Coordinator is an administrative position to support, coordinate, and collaborate with the MIT Kids and MITeen editorial staff. The Imprint Coordinator will work with systems set up for the flow of materials and develop systems for organizing information and projects. This role will suit a candidate interested in editorial administration. A strong working knowledge of Excel is required to generate reports and keep track of dynamic information as well as comfort working within a database. Strong communication skills are a must for coordinating meetings, taking meeting notes, and trafficking materials between Candlewick and MIT Press. An interest in STEM topics and children’s books is preferred. Responsibilities will include preparing agendas and scheduling meetings; preparing submission materials for the MIT editorial board; maintaining a submission log and project grid; preparing reporting materials for imprint business plan; trafficking materials to MIT for contractual approval points; preparing contract requests and necessary information for our database for new titles; conducting supportive market research to help shape the list; mailing materials and performing other office administrative support tasks.


Requirements: • Proven communication and collaboration skills
• Familiarity with contract terms and negotiations
• Extremely organized, attentive to details, and able to multi-task and prioritize
• Proficiency with Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and other common Microsoft Office programs is necessary
• Familiarity with databases is preferred
• An interest in STEM topics and children’s books is preferred
