Title: Media Planner
Description: MEDIA PLANNER

Hachette Book Group is hiring an experienced Media Planner to join a newly formed advertising team. The Media Planner will report to the VP of Advertising and collaborate closely with our publishing divisions’ marketing teams on developing impactful advertising campaigns and ensuring successful execution. The ideal candidate will be an experienced advertising professional with unflappable attention to detail, an analytical mind, and a passion for learning and evolving with the changing media landscape.

Responsibilities for Media Planner

Collaborate with the central advertising team and the publishing divisions’ marketing teams to develop advertising strategies for a wide range of books and authors
Effectively communicate with internal stakeholders and external media partners to ensure the smooth running of advertising campaigns, that desired placements are booked, assets are delivered and campaigns launched on time and on budget, and campaign schedules, payment and tracking details are diligently managed
Identify target audiences and develop segmentation strategies to expand readership, create effective and engaging campaigns, and drive conversion
Present proposals, including targeting strategies and cost schedules, to publishing divisions in a timely and professional manner
Support the analysis and reporting of advertising results and take an active interest in analyzing performance data to evolve strategy and improve ROI. Actively optimize campaigns to drive performance, and regularly communicate with publishing divisions about performance and insights
Develop and maintain good contacts with media owners, such as newspapers, magazines, websites, and ad networks. Maintain accurate rate and spec cards for media partners and regularly perform research to identify new media opportunities. Leverage cross-division media needs to obtain maximum value from media partners.
Requirements: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

3+ years experience as a media planner or similar role
Broad knowledge of media channels and advertising trends
Familiarity with campaign evaluation metrics and media buying
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Working knowledge of analytics and media planning tools
Familiarity with Adswerve and Google Analytics
Ability to work effectively under pressure
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Ability to work with IT resources such as databases and spreadsheets, for the collection and management of information
