Title: Editorial Production Manager
Description: No Starch Press, one of the world’s fastest growing and most well respected technical book publishers with over 25 years of success, seeks an experienced Editorial Production Manager.

You’ll work closely with our teams to take our publishing program to the next level. You’ll manage our internal production team, contractors, and the production of over 60 books per year.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage full-time in-house production team
• Interpret the application of house style
• Improve workflow without sacrificing quality
• Lead production discussions, coordinate and communicate with other departments
• Oversee book schedules and publication dates, prioritize, implement changes, resolve issues
• Streamline production schedules, balance work demands and production needs
• Oversee cover production
• Develop and manage budgets, costs, manufacturing; approve invoices
• Assist with priority production tasks and projects
• Communicate production information and scheduling needs to authors and freelancers; address concerns
• Research new vendors, monitor performance of current vendors
• Manage departmental adoption of technology, plan for growth
• Ensuring that the work of contractors and freelancers meets our quality standards

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree. Minimum 8 years book production management experience. Excellent communication skills. Demonstrated proficiency in copyediting, proofreading, editorial procedures, Chicago. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office / LibreOffice. Ability to maintain a high level of care and meticulous attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Exceptional ability to problem solve.
