Title: | Fall 2019 Marketing Intern, Quercus US |
Description: | SUMMARY:
Quercus US is seeking an intern in our Marketing Department for Fall 2019, running from September 23-December 13, 2019. The is a paid internship and candidates must be able to work 16-20 hours per week. The internship offers an opportunity to learn about different aspects of book publishing while performing the day-to-day responsibilities described below. The Marketing Intern will assist the Marketing and Publicity Director on any and all project-related tasks including: creating marketing collateral, designing social media assets, building brand awareness, pulling media lists, writing press materials, updating metadata, and more. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: -Create marketing collateral for authors, books, and publisher, including digital and print assets -Update social media accounts regularly and monitor/advise author social media -Update metadata on titles for increased reach and searchability -Work on digital marketing campaigns for eBooks to build buzz around publication -Coordinate GoodReads and other book giveaways -Monitor e-retailer account sites to ensure book and author data are accurate -Assist in publicity campaigns when necessary, including: creating galley orders, compiling press lists, coordinating mailings, etc. HOW TO APPLY: In order to be considered, all candidates must submit both a resume AND cover letter expressing their interest in the position. Requirements: | KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
-A current college or graduate student interested in exploring a career in book publishing, with a particular interest in creative/digital marketing -Strong written and verbal communication skills -Ability to work independently and as part of a team -Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel) -Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (especially Photoshop and InDesign) -Familiarity of social media platforms for corporate use a must -Knowledge of Canva, Hootsuite, AdEspresso, Wordpress, Squarespace, and/or Amazon Advertising a plus -Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively -Ability to think and work creatively and take initiative -Rigorous attention to detail |
