Title: Publishing Assistant
Description: Start Publishing is seeking an experienced assistant to manage the office and assistant the staff and company President. Candidate must have interest in publishing industry. Job tasks include but are not limited to:
• Answering phones
• Managing schedules
• Booking travel
• Managing office maintenance
• Managing special publishing related projects on an as needed basis
• Assisting staff in all departments of the company, including marketing, editorial, and production

Start Publishing has become well known as a publisher of high quality titles in a variety of both fiction and non-fiction niches, including science fiction, fantasy, thrillers, and romance. In addition to organic growth, the company has grown quickly through several strategic acquisitions, including Night Shade Books, a renowned science fiction imprint; Salvo Press, focused on thrillers; Whiskey Creek Press, known for general fiction as well as romance; Viva Editions, focused on healthy living; and Cleis Press, a 35-year-old company well known for high quality sexuality non-fiction and romantic fiction. Across all of our imprints, we have amassed a library of over 7,000 titles. Start Publishing's titles have won Hugo, Nebula, Shirley Jackson, and Locus Awards.
Requirements: Qualifications/Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree
• 2-3 years office experience
• Excellent communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Business
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Salary commensurate with experience
