Associate Product Manager (Temporary) Information Products Piscataway, New Jersey Apply now at: https://ieee.taleo.net/careersection/2/jobdetail.ftl?job=PRO0000013C&tz=GMT-05%3A00 Job Summary: The successful applicant will be responsible for working with the product team developing a new digital information workflow solution targeting design engineers in the Telecommunications Industry. As Associate Product Manager, you will assist in bringing this product to market, and will have the opportunity to influence development of the product after launch. This position will be responsible for acquisition, presentation, and prioritization of content from multiple sources. The role will maintain the highly relevant presentation of this content supporting the innovation needs of electrical engineers designing products for the Telecommunications industry. This role will report directly to Senior Manager Corporate Market Strategy, and will work closely with internal and external stakeholders including the Marketing team, Market Research, Finance, Sales, Publication Technology and Platform Design. Key Responsibilities: • Working with Product, Technology, Content and Project Management team to build and launch new subscription workflow solution targeting innovative design engineers in the Telecommunications industry. • Leveraging market research and working with internal and external stakeholders to optimize offering. Working with colleagues to implement the strategy and business plans that will help the IEEE meet customer satisfaction, revenue, net surplus and growth objectives. The incumbent will also be responsible for helping to proactively manage the end-to-end product lifecycle. • Working with Content Development to prioritize content partnering efforts, developing commercial relationships, signing partnering deals and launching content within new offering. • Leveraging knowledge of Telecommunications Industry to develop and maintain a practical product taxonomy supporting practicing engineers in their content and workflow needs. • Investigating and applying semantic enrichment and natural language processing solutions for application to surface key content for design engineers. • Moving product through development, to beta, to full production launch and beyond. Contributing to the product P&L and overall ongoing success of this offering. Creating agile prioritization of new feature and content requirements and working with technology teams to continually enhance product post launch. • Creating go-to-market plan working with Sales and Marketing, and owning successful execution. • Working with IEEE Sales and Marketing on product launch and ongoing sales and marketing promotions. Functioning as Subject Matter Expert supporting key sales. • Working with colleagues to help ensure ideation and collaboration among diverse internal and external stakeholders to recognize opportunity and results that meet customer requirements and drive new revenues. • Maintaining high-relevancy of quality content through curation and taxonomy tools. Day-to-day ownership of content presentation within solution. • Developing and maintaining personal knowledge within rapidly changing Telecommunications industry by working with internal IEEE societies, attending relevant conferences, following expert blog postings, etc. – for use in ensuring IEEE Telecommunications solution remains fresh and relevant to innovative design engineers. Promoting new IEEE solutions via speaking engagements at conferences, when possible. |
Requirements: | Qualifications
Education and Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field; Master’s degree preferred. • Minimum 5 years’ experience with an STM or other relevant B2B publisher developing, selling or marketing products or services. Skills & Other Requirements: • Understanding of the corporate engineering market and STM publishing industry – customers, current issues, production, trends and changes. • Excellent communication, reporting and analytical skills. • Ability to negotiate and manage profitability of relationships. • Ability to work in a multi-dimensional organization driven by diverse views and needs. • Strong analytical skills.
