Title: Entry-Level Assistant
Description: The Wylie Agency, a leading boutique literary agency representing nearly 1000 authors, is seeking a highly motivated individual to join its New York team as an entry level assistant. In this role you will manage reception duties and assist with clients.

Responsibilities will include handling office communications, reading manuscripts, working with contracts, and maintaining the smooth functioning of the office environment. You must be able to prioritize multiple tasks, and handle special projects as they arise. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a necessity, and the candidate must be self-motivated and extremely well-organized. Experience in the book publishing industry is a plus. The ideal applicant has a familiarity with many of the authors we represent. Our clients include, among others, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Hilton Als, Martin Amis, Dave Eggers, Louise Erdrich, Elizabeth Gilbert, Karl Ove Knausgaard, Milan Kundera, Colum McCann, Orhan Pamuk, Philip Roth, Salman Rushdie, and the estates of Chinua Achebe, Roberto BolaƱo, Jorge Luis Borges, Raymond Carver, John Cheever, Ralph Ellison, Vladimir Nabokov, Susan Sontag, and John Updike.
