Company Name: WORKMAN PUBLISHING
Description: Algonquin Young Readers, an imprint of Algonquin Books, seeks an intern to work virtually with our dedicated team based in the New York, NY area. In this role you will work closely with the Marketing Manager to assist with a variety of projects. We are looking for an intern who will be able to start as soon as possible and who can commit to 20 hours a week for a minimum of 3 months.
 
Responsibilities include:
• Coordinating mailings to accounts.
• Ordering promotional materials.
• Maintaining schedules.
• Maintaining social media channels.
• General administrative and organizational tasks.
• There may also be opportunities to assist in the editorial department with reading manuscripts and writing reader’s reports.
 
Qualifications:
• Ideal candidates will be organized and detail-oriented, and able to juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience with Excel and WordPress.
• Strong writing skills.
• Administrative experience a plus.
 
About Algonquin Young Readers:
Algonquin Young Readers publishes books for readers seven to seventeen. From short illustrated novels for the youngest independent readers to timely and topical crossover young adult fiction, what ties our books together are unforgettable characters, absorbing stories and superior writing.
 
Due to COVID-19, this position will be working from home for now, to be adjusted as circumstances allow.
