Description: | The professional books division of W. W. Norton & Company, Inc. seeks a bright, organized, and adaptable individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills to assist the editorial department as an intern for the Spring/Summer 2016 season. This is an opportunity for enterprising college students and recent graduates with a strong interest in professional and academic book publishing to gain experience moving manuscripts toward publication.
Intern responsibilities will include manuscript preparation, proofreading, editorial research, art management, author mailings, e-media projects, marketing and publicity projects, and a variety of day-to-day administrative tasks. |
Length of Internship: | 3 months, 20 hours per week. |
Requirements: | Ideal candidates will be detail-oriented, dependable in an office environment, and eager to learn. Norton Professional Books publishes in the fields of mental health, neuroscience, and education and a demonstrated interest in one or more of these subjects is encouraged. Specific hours can be mutually determined, but interns are expected to be available three or four days a week.
