The sparkhouse video team at Augsburg Fortress is seeking an Audio Intern to assist the Audio Supervisor in the delivery of audio needs for the Video Department during Pre-Production, Production, and Post-Production. This paid position will join the video team for 12 action-packed weeks of hands-on experience and learning opportunities. The Audio Intern will work closely with many members of the sparkhouse video department, including the Audio Supervisor and Production Manager.

As the Audio Intern, you will be responsible for performing 2nd Engineer duties in Voiceover Sessions including: Microphone placement, session spotting & setup, and ensuring all hardware settings are correct. You will also be responsible for executing Assembly SFX and Dialog Edits, and setting up final Mix and Sound Design Sessions for the 1st Engineers and Audio Supervisor.

This individual will take creative direction from the Audio Supervisor and 1st Engineers, and will assist these individuals in the scheduling of tasks, recording sessions, and reviews. The Audio intern will also liaise with audio and video team members to ensure all assets and deliverables are to-spec.
Length of Internship: 12 Weeks - Summer, 2016
Requirements: • 1-2 years of experience in Audio for Film/TV Production and/or Post Production
• 1-2 years of experience using Pro Tools on a regular basis
• Experience delivering final sound for at least 2 features or short films (school projects qualify)
• Demonstrable proficiency using Pro Tools functions and key commands
• Proven understanding of basic signal flow: Eg. How to buss signal to stems, effects, etc.
• Comprehensive understanding of basic recording hardware such as: Mic Pres, Compressors, and EQs
• Proven understanding of the frequency spectrum and how it relates to mix integrity
• Demonstrable understanding of Dynamics Processing and how it can effect the incoming and outgoing signal
• The ability to troubleshoot DAWs in the Apple OS
• Experience with Music Production and Composition (a plus)
• The ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-heavy environment
• Prior knowledge of ELCA and Lutheran heritage, organizational structures, and mission (helpful)
Location: The Augsburg Fortress paid internship program is robust, and includes flexible scheduling, time off, and no-cost gym access in the 510 Marquette fitness center! The beautiful, corporate, newly re-designed headquarters hosts 120 employees and is located in downtown Minneapolis with adjacent access to light Rail and MetroTransit bus lines, as well as skyway access to restaurants, banks, and shopping centers.
