Program Name: Hofstra University BA in Publishing Studies
Education Awarded: BA English Major with a Concentration in Publishing Studies
Description: For over thirty years the Hofstra English concentration in Publishing Studies has graduated successful professionals in the book industries. In addition to required courses in the history, theory, and practice of publishing as well as the editing, design and promotion of books, students may choose electives such as digital publishing or editing children’s books. Students are encouraged to pursue internship opportunities in the metropolitan New York area; past internships have included placements at Oxford University Press, Cosmopolitan, and Sterling Press. Graduates of Hofstra’s Publishing Studies program have found jobs with industry leaders including Scholastic, Macmillan, and Cambridge University Press.

Length: 4-Year Undergraduate Degree
Requirements / Eligibility: Students complete at least six Publishing Studies courses within a 13-course English major and 124-credit undergraduate degree.
