Internship Detail

Description: Our internships are designed to provide an unparalleled glimpse into the world of children’s Christian publishing by one of the leading Christian publishers on the west coast. Interns will be involved a variety of editorial roles during their time, from submissions to production, working closely with the editor in bringing great books to life.

Educational and career development opportunities in this placement include first-hand experience with the book publishing process, from raw manuscript to final galley; experience with proposals and acquisition decisions; attendance at select meetings to gain deeper understanding of the publishing process.
Length of Internship: •Duration— 10-12 weeks from late June to early September, depending on school schedule
•Hours—6-10 hours a week, preferably Tuesdays and Thursdays. No weekends.
Requirements: •Must be in college or graduate school, or recently graduated (graduate students in English, Journalism or other related field a plus)
•Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
•Strong verbal and written communication skills
•An interest in exploring the publishing world
•Willingness to learn industry-standard software (knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign not required, but definitely a plus)
Location: San Diego, at Aero Drive and hwy 15
