Internship Detail

Description: - Looking for energetic, reliable, independent and very creative individual. Must also be detailed oriented, well organized and able to set priorities under pressure.
Must be ready to take on several large projects, IMMEDIATELY. Media contacts a plus
Knowledge of media and contract methods such as release writing, review copy distribution and author publicity touring. To support the development and implementation of publicity plans for titles, moderate supervision: should be familiar with internet research, blogs, and social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook. We want someone who feels comfortable working independently on projects, has good communication skills, a professional phone manner, and strong writing abilities.

? Publicizes books and authors; schedules interviews with broadcast and print media.
? Books local and national publicity in broadcast and print media as well as bookstore tours
? Briefs authors on how to handle interviews; develops media contacts; accompanies authors on interviews.
? Writes press releases; pitches letters and other promotional materials relating to tours.
? Coordinates all publicity activities on assigned titles from the mailing of galleys to the development of proper angles and pitches; schedules and plans bookstore appearances and special events; coordinates publicity updates for division and sales force.
? Schedules author travel.

Requirements: Qualifications:
B.A/M.A. in Public Relations, Marketing or related field
1 to 2 years of PR agency and/or corporate public relations experience
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
Location: E. Orange, NJ

Payment: We would like applicants who can work from 25-30 hours a week. These are unpaid internships. But if you are eligible to receive credit from your college or university, we can work that out.
