Description: Are you interested in helping published and aspiring authors write their books faster, increase their productivity, and have more fun along the way?

Does the idea of helping thousands of indie & traditionally published authors improve their book planning and outlining process excite you?

We are seeking highly creative, ambitious, and tech-savvy software / web development interns who are interested in legitimately helping to shape how authors plot and develop their books.

This internship will center on Plottr (, an acclaimed visual book outlining tool already enjoyed by over 1,000 authors. For the right person, this position could transition into a part or full-time job.

Since 2015, Ryan Zee Author Marketing has quickly and quietly grown into one of the most trusted resources for authors on the web. We have helped over 5,000 authors grow their online platforms, including some of the most successful names across all major genres (romance, mysteries & thrillers, sci-fi & fantasy, teen & young adult, literary & book club fiction, Christian fiction, and more).

Our operations include, one of the premier book giveaway websites, with an email list of approx. 100,000 readers.

This internship will provide you with a rare real-time opportunity to develop the coding techniques and decision-making processes necessary for building a best-in-class consumer software / web application for authors.

Your daily tasks may include:
— Front-end feature development
— Quality testing
— Writing code tests
— Open source (Github) version control (pull requests, merge conflicts, branching)
— Technical support
— Reviewing & updating documentation
— Bug fixes

You’re likely a good fit if some or all of the following are true:
— You are passionate about making a difference in the world of books
— You're excited to help find opportunities for improvement and to incrementally execute solutions
— You can follow code style guidelines and are generally good at following instructions
— You can learn a code base quickly and understand how the parts work together
— You can locate holes in coding logic and suggest solutions
— You enjoy breaking code and finding its weaknesses in order to improve it
— You can disagree with code decisions and provide critical feedback while still following through with the plan
Length of Internship: Minimum of 3 Months
Requirements: Availability: 10 - 20 hours / wk
