Description: Rowman & Littlefield’s academic publishing division is currently accepting applications for a Fall 2018 internship with the Editorial Acquisitions Department located in New York City, NY.

Rowman & Littlefield, headquartered in Lanham, Maryland, is one of the largest and fastest-growing independent publishers and distributors in North America. The company publishes under several imprints in virtually all fields in the humanities and social sciences

The editorial intern would support the textbook editor in all aspects of editorial acquisitions, including sending manuscripts out for peer review, processing contracts, and preparing manuscripts—as well as any accompanying art or media—for turnover to production.
Requirements: The ideal candidate has strong written and verbal communication skills, is highly organized, and is eager to learn about textbook publishing and the publishing industry in general. Candidates must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office; a basic knowledge of Adobe Acrobat is a plus. Coursework and/or a concentration in English, Communications, or Marketing are strongly preferred.

Academic credit from an accredited institution of higher education must be available to all who apply for this unpaid opportunity. This internship offers a flexible schedule, but candidates must know their schedule (academic and otherwise) for the requisite semester when applying
