Company Name: W. W. NORTON & COMPANY
Description: The college division at W. W. Norton & Company is seeking an intern from May to August 2017 to assist the Composition and Literature teams with print and digital media editorial projects. The internship will offer insight into the editorial, marketing, and sales aspects of textbook publishing and give you the opportunity to work on digital and ancillary resources that complement textbooks, such as student websites, videos, and InQuizitive, our adaptive quizzing tool. Responsibilities will vary, but will include assisting with the preparation of manuscripts, researching market data, cataloging and organizing digital assets, organizing book reviews, testing digital content and functionality, assisting with various stages of production, and performing other administrative tasks.
Length of Internship: 3 months, 20 hours per week
Requirements: Candidates should have strong research and writing skills, be detail-oriented and organized, be comfortable working independently in an office environment, and have an interest in learning about college textbook and digital media publishing. Specific hours are flexible, but interns must be available to work 3-4 days for a total of 20 hours per week over a three-month period. Juniors, seniors, and recent college graduates preferred.
Location: New York, NY
Payment: $11/hour
