Description: The Astronomy and Geology Digital Media team is seeking a highly motivated intern from June to August 2017 to assist the digital media editorial assistant with editorial and production tasks in developing, managing, and producing forthcoming digital products for introductory science courses, including online activities, animations and videos, and a videogame. The intern will work with the digital media team to produce instructor and student resources. Responsibilities will include research, managing visual assets, formatting manuscripts, testing new products, and assisting with all stages of the publishing process. Please note: no specific knowledge of astronomy and geology is required.
Length of Internship: 3 months, 20 hours per week
Requirements: The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, digitally savvy, organized and focused, willing to learn new programs and skills on the job, and, most importantly, excited about the great potential for the digital side of educational publishing. Knowledge of Windows OS and Microsoft Office is required, and experience with Google spreadsheets is useful. This internship is a three-month commitment. Specific hours are flexible, but interns must be available to work 3-4 days for a total of 20 hours per week. College juniors, seniors, and recent graduates preferred.
