Description: ROWMAN AND LITTLEFIELD INTERNSHIP PROGRAM: MARKETING INTERN


Rowman & Littlefield, a scholarly publisher in Lanham, Maryland, is currently accepting resumes for the Fall 2017 semester from students interested in exploring a career in publishing within its marketing and publicity department.

Students accepted will train and learn all operations of the department, including assisting department managers on all aspects of online marketing and email outreach, researching special sales opportunities, mailing list building and research, proofreading and copy editing, and publicity efforts to include targeting key media and journals to send books for review.

Student in all majors will be considered, but Marketing, Public Relations, and Communications students will be given preference. This internship offers a flexible schedule, but candidates must provide their availability and schedule (academic and otherwise) for the requisite semester when applying.

The ideal candidate will have strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite a plus.

Because Rowman & Littlefield is committed to the growth of tomorrow’s publishing leaders, students selected as interns are expected to gain practical and valuable experience not only in their primary area of study, but with regard to the publishing industry as a whole. Candidates must be able to receive academic credit or fulfill a graduation requirement to be accepted into this unpaid internship position.

Length of Internship: This internship offers a flexible schedule, and will last between 12 and 16 weeks depending on candidate's availability.
Location: Lanham, MD
Payment: Unpaid academic internship.
