Description: Beaufort Books is a small independent book publisher located in New York City in the Flatiron District. We're looking for enthusiastic, dedicated interns to work directly with the managing editor on editorial, publicity, and the distribution aspects of publishing.

Applicants should be good writers and researchers with a desire to learn. Applicants should be computer savvy and familiar with internet research, blogs, and social networking sites. We want someone who feels comfortable working independently on projects.

Major duties include:

• Proofread and edit copy
• Craft copy for sell sheets, press releases, dust jackets, etc.
• Update and maintain social media sites such as Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, and Instagram
• Research and contact media outlets for publicity opportunities
• Other administrative duties as assigned
Length of Internship: We are very aware of maintaining a work/life balance. Our internships are from 1 - 3 days per week 8 hours per day. The Fall Internship begins in late August/early September and lasts until December or the end of the academic session. Exact dates dependent on intern's availability.
Requirements: Current students and recent grads of any major are encouraged to apply.
