Description: Europa Editions, an independent publishing house of literary and crime fiction, is seeking an intern for 20 hours per week for a six-month term, assisting the Publisher-at-Large in the West Village.

The interns duties are split between editorial (reading manuscript submissions, assisting the editing of manuscripts, writing catalog and jacket copy); publicity (helping as needed with author tours and readings, initiating and tracking review attention, writing press releases); and administrative (fielding and responding to emails, tracking manuscript submissions, filing reviews, scheduling meetings and travel arrangements).

Every intern who has completed this internship and chooses to pursue a career in publishing has been hired for a full-time position at either a publishing house or literary agency.
Length of Internship: 6 months, with flexibility to extend or shorten.
Requirements: -We are looking for college graduates with previous office experience and a commitment to starting a career in publishing.
-A demonstrated interest in and familiarity with quality fiction is essential.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
-Only applicants already living in the New York area will be considered.
Location: New York, NY
Payment: The internship is unpaid but interns receive a monthly subway card.
