|Description:||The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) seeks spring 2015 interns to conduct editorial and administrative tasks for the quarterly Science & Diplomacy.
Two part-time (twenty hours a week) temporary positions are available. These positions may also be combined into one full time (40 hours a week) position based on applicant availability.
These positions are anticipated to extend for a period of three to four months.
Major duties and responsibilities:
Assists with proofreading and copyediting
Assists with layout of pieces (using InDesign)
Assists with web postings (using Dreamweaver and Drupal)
Searches for and propose appropriate photos for each piece
Assists with communications activities, including social media
Completes other administrative tasks and projects as assigned

|Length of Internship:||3-4 months|
High school level training leading to a Diploma or GED College-level course work in journalism, English, publishing, or graphic design preferred
Editing or publication experience preferred
Familiarity with InDesign, HTML, and Content Management Systems preferred
Familiarity with Microsoft Access is a plus
Strong attention to detail and deadlines
Ability to be flexible, manage a variety of tasks simultaneously, and work both independently and as part of a team
