Company Name: W. W. NORTON & COMPANY
Description: W.W. Norton’s college team is seeking an editorial intern to assist with chemistry, astronomy, and physics textbooks, for summer 2014. The internship will offer experience in editorial, production, and marketing aspects of textbook publishing. Responsibilities will include preparing manuscript, assisting review programs, market research, data entry and management, and basic office tasks like mailing, copying, and printing.
Length of Internship: 3 months, 20 hours per week
Requirements: Candidates should be interested in learning about textbook publishing. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, have the ability to work independently and efficiently, and have excellent communication skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office is required. Preference will be given to candidates with a physical science background. Specific work hours are flexible, but interns are expected to work up to a total of 20 hours per week, for 3 months.
Location: New York, NY
Payment: $8/hour
